Kooks Adds Manual Transmission Option for 1979-1995 Mustang Coyote Swap

KOOKS SHIFTS TO MANUAL TRANSMISSION OPTION FOR 1979-1995 MUSTANG COYOTE SWAPPED ENGINES

Kooks adds manual transmission long tube headers and exhaust for 1979-1995 Mustang coyote swapped engines to its product line.

STATESVILLE, N.C. (May 11, 2020) – Following up to 1979-1995 Mustang coyote swapped Kooks long tube headers and exhaust is now available for manual transmissions.

The Kooks Headers and Exhaust long tube headers are engineered to be used with manual transmissions with OEM style bellhousing. In addition, the headers are designed to be optimum fitment with added performance gains.

As part of Kooks commitment to crafting the highest quality products, the headers are made from 304-grade stainless steel and feature 3/8”-thick flanges, 1-3/4” (part no. 10512202) or 1-7/8” (part no. 10512402) equal-length primaries for maximum horsepower and torque; 3” outlet slip-on collectors that include our patented scavenging spikes. These will also include installation hardware and all required gaskets.

The exhaust comes in two different options, X-pipe (part no. 10513102) and 3” 304-grade stainless steel race exhaust (part no. 10514102). The X-pipe includes non-catted connection pipes and the straight 3” outlet of the X-pipe can be used as a starting point for a custom exhaust.

The 3” stainless steel race exhaust includes front connection pipes, X-pipe, tailpipes, 3” race mufflers and turndowns. The race exhaust terminates in front of the rear axle and will require custom hangers to be fabricated for installation. The stainless steel racing exhaust was created to be used with the Kooks 1-3/4” long tube headers (part no. 10512202) to comply with the exhaust rules for NMCA Coyote Stock class.

The Kooks manual transmission header and exhaust options were designed to fit in conjunction with, and require these parts:

  • Maximum Motorsports K-Member Part# MMKM-2.1
  • Maximum Motorsports Motor Mounts Part# 6-504-BL
  • Ford ’97-’00 4.6L Starter Part# SA848RM (or equivalent)

These headers are not for use on the 2015+ engines with charge motion control valves in the OEM location.
